Recap

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Dordt College men's volleyball team finished its spring break road trip with a 3-2 loss to Viterbo.

After falling behind two sets to zero, the Defenders rallied back to force a fifth set.

Dordt trailed for the entire third set, but took a 21-20 lead late. A 4-2 run sealed the victory. Tiemersma's two kills and service errors by the V-Hawks were the deciding factor.

The teams were tied at 11 midway through set four before the Defenders broke the deadlock with a two-point run. Dordt never let the V-Hakws back within three and earned the set four victory.

Dordt had a 7-6 lead in set five, but couldn't hold Viterbo long enough to secure the victory. The V-Hawks won 15-11.

"With a slow start to the match and down 0-2 in sets, we rallied strong to force a fifth set. Many different guys contributed through this match and we relied on their contributions to stay competitive."
