The Dordt College men's volleyball team was swept by Judson in the first game of their Saturday double header.

The Defenders kept things close all through the first set. After going down 12-9, the Defenders came back and grabbed a 17-14 lead. The Eagles scored three unanswered points to tie the set and the teams traded points until Dordt had a 24-23 lead. Three straight kills by Judson gave them the set one victory.

Judson continued its momentum into the second set and took an 8-4 lead. The Defenders stayed disciplined and tied the set at 13. The Eagles outscored Dordt 12-4 in the rest of the set to win 25-17.

A 9-2 run to start set three was all the Eagles needed to seal the victory. The Defenders got no closer than ten points in the final set and Judson won 25-14.

Garret Vander Zee led Dordt with 10 kills. He also added five digs.

Ben Tiemersma had nine kills and seven digs.

Austin Clark had 22 assists and four digs.

Austen Scammon led the way for the Defenders with 12 digs.

Kaimi Ahn-DiFolco led all players with 14 kills.

Javier Arreguin had six kills and 14 digs.

Tony Tauiliili had 40 assists to lead the Eagles.

"We began the match competitively and struggled to stay focused in the important skill areas. We needed more consistency to have a chance against their offense which was performing at a high level."

Dordt will play Viterbo on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in Sioux Center.
