HOW IT HAPPENED 

The Dordt College baseball team lost 13-10 to Mount Marty on Friday to kick off their full weekend of games. 

The Defenders pitched six different players in the offensive showcase. 

The Lancers put two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. Colin Muth singled Reece Mimmack home and a double by Mason Townsend scored Muth. 

Dordt responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first to tie the game. Cam Pfafman singled and Lucas Nelson scored. Steve Tiersma scored on a wild pitch a few batters later. 

Mount Marty scored five runs in the top of the second and three in the top of the third to take a 10-2 lead. 

Eight runs in the bottom of the third for Dordt tied the game at 10. Logan Cline Scored on a Pfafman double to kick things off. Chris Schrieber doubled and sent Tiersma home. David Laurenti singled and scored Hamann. Andrew Pullar doubled and Schrieber scored. Laurenti scored off of an Austin Pullar walk. Nelson was walked next and Andrew Pullar scored. Cline hit a sacrifice fly and scored Holwerda. Pfafman batted again and sent Austin Pullar home to end the scoring. 

Mount Marty responded with two runs in the top of the fourth to take a 12-10 lead. Dordt couldn't muster any offense of the next few innings and one more run by the Lancers gave them the 13-10 victory. 

DORDT NUMBERS

Cam Pfafman led Dordt with three hits and three RBI.

Aj Bosscher, Nate Psych, Austin Fokkema, Karsten Marker and Caleb Pollema all pitched for Dordt. 

MOUNT MARTY NUMBERS

Both Miller and Townsend had three hits for the Lancers. Miller led all players with four RBI. 

Blake Svoboda, Luis Ruiz and Nick Iossi pitched for Mount Marty. Iossi earned the victory.
