HOW IT HAPPENED

All of Morningside's runs came in the first two innings. Nic Metcalf hit a double off of Dordt starter Isaac Buteyn in the bottom of the first that scored Levi Davidson.
Brandon McClintock hit a single to left in the bottom of the second to score Jordan Pierce. Carter Kratz hit a sacrifice fly in the next at bat and scored Shea Patterson. Davidson hit a fly to left field in the next at bat that brought Derrick Johnson home.

Buteyn and Austin Fokkema both pitched for Dordt. Buteyn finished with five strikeouts.
Lucas Nelson had two hits to lead the Defenders.
Billy Mount earned the win for the Mustangs.
Derrick Johnson had two hits in the game.
