Dordt def. Jamestown 74-56


Dordt used a 24-12 fourth quarter advantage to secure a 74-56 win over Jamestown on the road on Wednesday night.

The Defenders never trailed and fought off a Jamestown rally in the third quarter for it’s 19th win of the season.

Dordt started with a 6-1 lead after a basket by Kenzie Bousema and the lead quickly grew to 18-7 with 3:32 left in the quarter on a Jordyn Van Maanen basket after a steal by Mya Chmielewski.  The lead grew to 24-9 with :27 left before settling for a 24-11 first quarter break lead.

Dordt controlled the second quarter by taking as much as a 16 point lead and the difference was never less than eight.

Jamestown got going in the third quarter and knocked down five three-point baskets in the period and closed the difference to 44-42 with 4:16 left in the quarter. Baylee Tetzlaff converted a free throw for a three-point lead and Kenzie Bousema had  a pair of free throws to stretch the quarter break difference to 50-44.

An Annie Rhinesmith three point basket with three minutes gone in the fourth gave Dordt a 10 point lead that it never shrunk below nine in winning 74-56.


Dordt was 23-62 from the field and 6-19 from the three-point line while converting 22-29 free throws.

Jamestown was 18-52 from the field and 8-25 from the arch while making 12-16 free throws.

Dordt had a 43-33 rebounding edge.

Dordt had 16 steals and Jamestown had none.


Erika Feenstra had 16 points and six rebounds with two steals.

Annie Rhinesmith had 16 points and four rebounds with two steals and converted three, three-point baskets.

Kenzie Bousema came off the bench to score 14 with six rebounds and five steals.

Jordyn Van Maanen added nine points.


Mackensi Higlin scored 15 and Paige Schmidt added 10.

Emma Stoehr had 13 points and three assists.

Dordt matches the single season win record established in 2008-09 and 1990-91.
